The Foundation was established by a group of Jewish businessmen, employees and religious figures with the aim of reviving Jewish life in Russia. Mr Rappoport was one of the donors of this Foundation from the beginning.

The Russian Jewish Congress is the largest Jewish public organization and charitable foundation in Russia, and it is a member of the World Jewish Congress. Its mission is to foster and enhance Jewish life in Russia by supporting the Jewish community through a variety of charitable programs designed to achieve this objective.

From its foundation in 1996 until early2022, Mr. Rappoport served as a member of the Board of Directors and sponsor of the charitable foundation Russian Jewish Congress. In March 2022, Mr. Rappoport resigned as a member of the Board of Directors of the Russian Jewish Congress Charitable Foundation.

Mr. Rappoport has been a dedicated supporter of the Jewish communities in both the Kherson region of Ukraine and Spain for many years.
