Associazione Triangolo is a Swiss non-profit that supports people facing serious illness, primarily cancer, and their families — care that extends far beyond medical treatment. Working hand in hand with hospital teams both in hospital and at home, Triangolo attends to the emotional, social and practical aspects of living with a life-threatening diagnosis.

Its Sottoceneri branch, based in Lugano, runs three self-funded services in close coordination with Clinica Sant’Anna and Clinica Luganese Moncucco. In 2024, 32 volunteers contributed more than 5,000 hours helping 136 patients — home visits, hospital accompaniment, practical everyday support. A dedicated social service helped 141 patients navigate benefits, subsidies and bureaucratic matters, whilst the psycho-oncology service provided individual and family counselling to 46 patients over the year. Triangolo also organizes cooking workshops, walks, aqua aerobics and other gatherings for patients and their families, focused on quality of life and human connection rather than illness.

The FAIR Foundation began supporting Associazione Triangolo in 2025, helping sustain its patient care programs in the Ticino region.
